The City of Palm Desert’s Personnel System, Section 2.52 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code prescribes specific terms for appointment and tenure of all City employees. Effective July 1, 2021, Resolution 2021- 47 authorized a new salary scale, salary ranges, allocated positions, and authorized classifications.

Employee Memorandum of Understanding

The City of Palm Desert has a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Palm Desert City Employees’ Organization (PDEO), which to address wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment within the scope of bargaining of the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (Government Code Section 3500, et seq.).

Upon expiration of the current MOU, the City of Palm Desert and the Palm Desert City Employees’ Organization will enter into negotiations for revision and update of the MOU, generating a proposal for Council consideration.
